This is my quickie Mac port of the game WUMPUS as downloaded from the Retrocomputing Museum at locke.ccil.org. The place, set up by Eric Raymond of Jargon File fame and another guy whose name escapes me at the moment, is an ftp site dedicated to honoring(?) the big-time kludges of the distant past of computing, with such lovely Mac-like things as TECO, Intercal, and this misbegotten proto-text adventure.
A hint or two--
-Keep track of where you are. You'll hurt yourself if you don't.
-Keep the caps lock key down when playing. The damn thing is case-sensitive.
This package contains the following files:
readme-dsx--This file.
README-esr--Eric's readme, explaining his methods.
wumpus.c--The source code. All the documentation you need is in there, as well as BASIC source code if you want to do a shakedown on your brand-new copy of Chipmunk BASIC.
wumpus.π--A Think C 7.0 project file.
This is an unsupported product of Duchesne Systems ported by Brian Connors. I do not hold any sort of copyright on it (I didn't write or modify it), so report any bugs to Eric(esr@snark.thyrsus.com, AFAIK) or Symantec.
